Whether you have a naturally small butt or are unpleased with the appearance of your buttocks after weight fluctuations and the natural progression of aging, butt augmentation with the Brazilian Butt Lift can help to give you an hourglass, feminine physique that is sure to turn heads. The Brazilian Butt Lift augments the buttocks by using fat grafted from other areas of your body, which allows you to target and enhance two areas at once to achieve a more youthful and defined derrière.
Individuals who are interested in the Brazilian Butt Lift must be in good physical health, have good skin elasticity, and have realistic expectations of their results. Candidates must be willing to stop all tobacco/nicotine use for at least six weeks before and after their procedure to ensure that no nicotine/smoking-related complications occur during the Brazilian Butt Lift itself or the recovery period. Individuals who may qualify for a Brazilian Butt Lift:
- Desire a fuller, rounder, and more pronounced derrière
- Have an adequate amount of fat in another part of their body that can be harvested
- Maintain a stable weight
The Brazilian Butt Lift relies on fat transfer. During your consultation, you and Dr. Goldschmidt will determine the best area or areas from which to collect your donor fat. This fat is commonly removed from the abdomen, flanks, thighs, back, or upper arms.
This procedure starts with the removal of the donor fat. Small incisions will be made near the donor sites, and the excess, unwanted fat is removed via liposuction. The collected fat will be purified so that only the pure fat cells remain. These cells are then injected into various areas of the buttocks to define, enhance, and lift the butt. As no incisions are made on the buttocks, there is no need for sutures; however, small sutures will be used to close the incisions made at the donor area. Brazilian Butt Lift surgery is an outpatient procedure.
The Brazilian Butt Lift is usually well-tolerated by patients. It is expected that patients will experience some bruising, swelling, and minimal discomfort in both the donor areas and the injection sites. A compression garment will help to reduce swelling, enhance comfort, and encourage circulation and healing. Most patients take about five days to recover; during this time, you should avoid sitting directly on your buttocks as much as possible. Patients can resume most if not, all regular activities after four weeks.
During Brazilian Butt Lift surgery, it is expected that not every fat cell that is transferred will last. Dr. Goldschmidt initially injects a more considerable amount of fat than desired since some of this fat will be reabsorbed by the body. The full results of your Brazilian Butt Lift won’t become apparent until after all swelling has subsided. Once this happens, you can enjoy your enhanced and sculpted physique that includes a larger and rounder buttocks as well as slimmer hips, thighs, stomach, or abdomen. These results are long lasting as long as you continue with a healthy lifestyle and do not experience any major fluctuations in weight.
Fat transfer is considered to be very safe; unfortunately, any surgical procedure comes with some risk of complications. These risks include:
- Anesthesia risks
- Blood clots
- Fat embolism
