What is the process for dermaplaning?
A licensed aesthetician cleanses the skin and thoroughly dries it. Next, the skin is held taut, and a sterile #10 blade or surgical scalpel is used to gently and strategically remove the outer layer of skin. When conducted carefully, this treatment is painless and similar to shaving.
Dermaplaning takes about 30 minutes to complete, and there is no downtime following the treatment. After the dead skin cells and fine hairs are removed, sunblock is then applied to the skin. Experiencing sensitivity is normal, and sun exposure should be avoided.
