What is microneedling?
Microneedling is a nonsurgical skin treatment that uses superfine, medical-grade needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. This triggers the natural production of collagen and elastin: two components of firm, healthy skin.
This treatment is designed to resurface the skin, improve texture and tone, smooth wrinkles, reduce unwanted pigmentation from sun damage, and reduce pore size. Other skin concerns, such as stretch marks or acne scars, can also be addressed with microneedling treatments.
Our Technology
We perform traditional microneedling using the Vistapen™ device. The Vistapen™ is known for superior precision and comfort, allowing our board-certified providers to customize needle depth and optimize serum absorption for enhanced results.

What is the microneedling procedure?
Consultation
We offer complimentary consultations, and if you are a good candidate, we can usually perform microneedling on the same day, if time permits.
During your consultation, our RN will review your medical history, current skincare routine, and treatment goals. You’ll also discuss recommended sessions and maintenance.
Microneedling Steps
Microneedling is performed using an instrument with several superfine, short needles designed to gently puncture the skin. The depth of penetration can be adjusted depending on the degree of repair needed and can vary between 0.5mm and 2.5mm. Superficial penetration of the skin promotes collagen and elastin production by inducing the body’s natural healing process, resulting in a significant improvement in the skin texture and overall skin quality. Long-term results after microneedling include smoother skin and the reduction of pigmentation issues.
Our licensed aesthetician begins with applying a topical anesthesia 10 to 15 minutes prior to your session. This ensures your comfort during treatment. Your skin is then cleansed, and a serum is applied. Next, the microneedling device is used to push the serum into the deeper layers of the skin. For some patients, platelet-rich plasma (PRP), derived from a sample of their own blood, is used instead of serum. This is known as a Vampire Facial.
Directly following your treatment, your skin may appear pink, and tiny scabs may form as your skin generates new, healthy cells. These symptoms should fade away a few days after the procedure. Areas such as the abdomen, buttocks, chest, legs, and any other area with stretch marks or flaws can also be treated. Microneedling thickens the skin and improves the appearance of many different skin irregularities.
What is microneedling recovery like?
Microneedling is known for its short recovery period. Common temporary side effects include redness or pinkness, mild swelling, and irritation (similar to a sunburn). You may also experience dryness, flaking, and pinpoint bleeding. Most symptoms fade within a few days.
You may be advised to take it easy for a couple of days until your symptoms diminish. Avoid direct sunlight while you heal and use plenty of sun protection. Some patients can resume activities as usual immediately, with side effects fading within a few hours.
Avoid:
- Sun exposure
- Makeup for 24 hours
- Scrubs/exfoliants
- Picking or scratching the skin
- Saunas, hot tubs, or heat exposure
All patients are sent home with detailed post-care instructions.
What can I expect from my microneedling results?
The skin should appear refreshed and youthful after a microneedling treatment. Most patients notice meaningful improvement after one to two treatments, with full results developing about three to six months after the final session as collagen remodeling continues.
We take photographs at each session to track your progress.

What is the average cost of a microneedling treatment?
Our licensed aesthetician can recommend the number of treatments you need to achieve your goals and provide a cost estimate during your consultation. The size of the area being treated will determine the price.
Does microneedling leave scars?
Microneedling is designed to be less invasive than surgical treatments. Any redness, pinkness, irritation, or scabs should heal within a few days without any lasting scars or marks.
Is the treatment painful?
An anesthetic cream is used before treatment to minimize discomfort. Most patients are unable to feel any pain during treatment.
How many treatments will I need?
Most patients are recommended to undergo a series of microneedling treatments, usually three to six months apart. If you have severe acne scars or extensive stretch marks, then you may wish to have a session once per month for several months.
